“Reaching for Recovery”
Jack Hicklin was a Fremont based artist who began painting in San Quentin State Penitentiary.
“Painting was always my first love but addiction kept getting in the way. The C.U.R.A. recovery program gave me the opportunity to get my life together and I am very grateful to the program. It is a family bonded by love, care and concern. Like the song in the C.U.R.A. puppet show, “I put down drugs and picked up me.”
