Men’s Residential Program

Residential Treatment Programs
Residential Treatment Programs have long been a cornerstone in the battle against substance use disorders (SUDs). Offering structured, immersive care, these programs work to provide individuals with the tools and support necessary for sustained recovery.
C.U.R.A., Inc. is fully certified and licensed by the State of California and operates a Residential Therapeutic Community in Fremont, California and a Recovery Residence in Oakland, California. C.U.R.A., Inc. has been in continuous operation for over fifty years.
Understanding Residential Programs for SUD
Residential treatment involves individuals living at a facility where they receive comprehensive care, including medical supervision, therapy, and support for co-occurring mental health conditions.
This environment is designed to remove individuals from triggers and provide a stable setting conducive to recovery.

Benefits of Residential Recovery
Residential treatment offers a transformative path to recovery, allowing individuals to immerse themselves in a supportive community where healing thrives. By embracing a structured environment, residents experience the stability and discipline essential for overcoming addiction. This dedicated space fosters connections with peers on similar journeys, creating a network of shared experiences and encouragement. With 24/7 access to compassionate care, every challenge can be met with guidance, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the recovery process. Together, residents learn to navigate their paths to sobriety, utilizing evidence-based practices that empower them to reclaim their lives and build a brighter future. At C.U.R.A., we understand the journey begins with the courage to seek help, and we are here to walk that path alongside you.
Our Alumni AfterCare Program
At The AfterCare Project, we understand that the transition beyond a structured program can be one of the most vulnerable times for individuals. Lasting change requires consistent support, which is why we have developed our Alumni AfterCare Program. This initiative offers graduates continued access to mentorship, resources, and community-based connections that strengthen their ability to remain stable, resilient, and engaged in their personal growth. By focusing on long-term outcomes, the program reduces the risk of setbacks and helps alumni successfully navigate education, employment, housing, and wellness goals.
With the ongoing encouragement of peers and trusted mentors, alumni are empowered to build confidence, maintain accountability, and sustain the progress they have worked so hard to achieve. For funders and partners, supporting aftercare means investing in long-term impact—ensuring that the initial gains of our programs are not temporary, but instead serve as the foundation for lasting transformation. Through this continued commitment, we are creating not just stories of recovery, but pathways to thriving futures.

What Are Evidence-Based Practices?
At C.U.R.A., Inc., we know that the best care comes from using what really works. That’s why we use evidence-based practices—methods that have been studied, tested, and shown to help people recover from substance use disorders.
Proven best practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and medication-assisted treatment have helped many people make lasting changes in their lives.
Evidence-Based Practices provide our residents the support they need to move forward with confidence and vision.
